Chef David is making Banana Split Pancakes with daddy.

Happy Halloween!

Miss Ginny came back to see me in my fireman outfit.
Sydney and David went to the zoo to trick-or-treat.

I tried to take some pictures of the two of them running around, but they were having so much fun (and moving at the speed of light) I could catch a couple with the two of them together.

The plumber didn't do such a good job so daddy and David had to step in.
"I fix it"
"I've got wrench"
"Cory what else was he saying...

The homecoming parade was a big hit in David's book. He had a gang of people around who were helping to gather candy for him. Dad was a little jealous that cute girls would walk over to hand David candy before continuing with the parade. Even though his bag was totally full wouldn't put candy in a new bag. When we tried to pull some pieces out and put them in a new bag he caught on and put his hand in the bag. He was possessive of his candy, but I was very proud of him! We told him that he had to wait until he got to grandma's house to eat any candy. We let him hold one piece. He would unwrap it look at it and wrap it up again, but he didn't eat it. I thought he showed excellent self control.

The kids in the neighborhood are so nice to David. Elliott found a bug and thought that David would want to see it. So on went the cowboy boots and out the door he went to play with the kids. How has time to change out of jammies when there are bugs to find?

David is very into owls. In this picture we had to stop on our way home to listen carefully for an owl. As you can see from the picture in order to listen David had to have his check pressed against mine.

September

David wasn't satisfied watching Papa carry the corn to feed the cows. He needed his own bucket.

We found a woolly caterpillar. David spent a long time trying to touch it. He said that we wanted it on his hand, but then quickly pulled back when he got close. He was happy to offer the hands of others in exchange.

As you can see David love berries. He made several trips to pick raspberries, but they didn't make it back to the house.

We've been told that digging took up a large part o David's days.

While David had fun with grandmas and papas mommy and daddy hiked, read, swam, relaxed and just plain had fun in Arizona!

David had fun playing with a praying mantas with his friend Kyle. David moved quickly from being petrified, to looking at the bug as long as he was physically touching mommy to getting right in there.

August 2008

David had a great time visiting Grandma and PaPas.

He had fun hanging out with grandma in Papa's hammock.

David's version of fishing consists for dragging the end of the pole through the water and mug. Daddy and PaPa had a little more luck.

After warnings about being too close to the edge David ended up wet from head to toe.
We went to the Iowa State Fair and David went through an exhibit where took part in all the aspects of being a farmer. Of course the tractor was the favorite part...

The chickens were not real, but they clucked like real chickens. David was a little scared.
He planted seeds and then picked the veggies.

He brought his harvest to the market to sell.

We went to the butterfly tent. While he talked a big game about seeing the butterflies it was a quick trip.

After a busy day at the Fair we needed some lemonade.

Aunt Ann brought baby Olivia to our house for her first trip to Iowa. We had a great time playing!

David continues to be interested in cleaning. Vacuums, brooms, you name it he loves it!
