We went to Grandpa Les and Grandma Jo's house to see to see Jenny, Cooper, and Heather. David had fun playing with Cooper. He loved trying to pick him up and rubbing his head.
We went to Meredith's Corporate picnic at Adventureland and met up with Sydney and her mom and dad. It was really fun riding the rides together!
David and Sydney went to the Zoo for Wallaby Nights. They had fun dancing, getting sprayed by water, watching the baby elephant, running though the zoo saying this way, and riding the train.
The neighborhood picnic featured a parade this year. This is a picture of David and his friend from the park, Jade. Adam pulled them both in the wagon. It was a good time for all!
We went to the symphony's "Yankee Doodle Pops" concert on July 3rd. It was a great night under the stars. On the way there David said, "No fireworks," but when he saw them he loved them. David liked the music too. At times he conducted the musicians.
I just love watching his chubby little fingers working with small objects.
David had a great time hanging out with Alan's granddaughter.
David was very happy to see Grandma and PaPa Sue.
David was insistent about purchasing a tractor which he likes to park in his garage (other wise know as the space under his bed or in Allie's kennel). Grandma and PaPa fueled David's passion for role playing by getting him a fireman set. He was really cute calling for back up on his pretend radio. "I need help, I've got a fire" and "back up come help." In the picture below he is spraying water to put fires out.
David enjoyed helping PaPa pack up the truck for the ride home.
David also likes working on his work bench. He wears the tool belt like a sash. When I took this picture his mannerisms were so much like a grown up. He would use one tool for a while and then bend down and get another from his "tool box."
During a summer storm we found ourselves taking shelter in the basement. David decided to help mommy with a presentation : )
David helped daddy pick cherries from Steve and Cynthia's tree. There were enough to make 2 lazy day cobblers. As you can see this was a very intense effort. I tried and tried to get a smile, but there was always another cherry to be picked.
David is honing his listening skills. Unfortunately, he seems more interested in listening to his own belly than to what mommy and daddy say.

Playing with water and washing hands is still a favorite activity. David has gotten to be an expert at moving his ladder around to get just about anything that he wants.
Favorite books... Super Man, Curious George, Boats, Mommy Loves Me, Lama Lama Red Pajamas. Our bedtime routine has always involved talking about what David did during the day, but now when that time comes he says, "do today." A regular morning request includes Bob the Builder... Yes We can.

For the 4th we went to Lisa and Randy's and watched fireworks. David used Randy's ear protectors during the show and at first he thought the fireworks were great. Later he got scared and told the fireworks to, "be quite."
